What to expect from us regarding your upcoming webinar
A week before your webinar you will receive two emails. One from Webex, the link to the program and your meeting number as well as one from us that will contain your handouts, ASHA form, post test and anything else relevant for the course.
When it is time to start, click the link from Webex to take you to their platform. Click the audio connection. That will dial you in. Enter your meeting number and you will enjoy your seminar. During the course you can type in questions in the chat box or offer a comment and participate in the discussion. We will check for questions during an optimal Q and A time, not at the immediate time it was sent. Questions from a webinar are a different dynamic than from a live course. We will check frequently during optimal times. The PowerPoint will be embedded in the webinar and you will clearly see the instructor.
PLEASE have your microphone muted. If it is on we will hear you-all of you right down to throat clearing, the dog barking and your kids. The same is also true with video. If you are watching the webinar in bed, everyone will know.
If ASHA tracks your continuing education credit, you must submit your ASHA form back to us the next day for credit and the post test. That is the ASHA policy. 24 hours. We will send you a certificate of completion at your request. Our fax number is 303-862-9770 or scan and email at Contact@SpeechAndVoice.com.
If you are having trouble with technical difficulties, in blue you will see a US toll free number to call for support at the bottom of your screen. Call them, not us. We are not equipped to support technical difficulties. It is also your responsibility to ensure your technology device is new enough and capable to support a webinar. Your internet signal needs to be strong enough to support a webinar. If you have difficulty with your home internet you may want to rethink a webinar. Please make sure your volume is up and check other things to watch a video. Please understand we cannot refund tuition after the course if your technology device could not handle the program. Webex is equipped to tell us if the problem was on our end or yours. Make sure your device is ready to go.
Webinars’ Aren’t Perfect
Webinars are a great alternative when unable to travel to a seminar location. There are advantages and disadvantages of webinars and be sure you are aware of the differences to enjoy your program. Know that things can and do go wrong on occasion that are outside of the control of Speech and Voice Enterprises. When it comes to video conferencing, we are at the mercy of the quality of the hotel’s Internet system. There have been times, when the signal has been dropped, the visual our audio has been distorted or we were unable to offer the webinar completely. We can repeat questions but we can’t repeat a group discussion. Understand that discussions occur and it is not possible to paraphrase a group discussion. Webinars are the next best thing, not the same thing. Webinar participants are not a direct part of the group but an extension of it. If you can attend live, please do. Our speaker’s are outstanding, with high energy programs with active leaning practicum’s that makes it worth the travel.
You are in for a great program. Thank you for choosing Speech and Voice Enterprises for your seminar. Webinars are a new and comfortable way of attending a program.
